These nature based tourism activities resulted in Gansbaai becoming weel known as the Great White Shark capital of the world.

The shark diving, whale watching, Dyer ad Geyser Island tours all operate from the boat launching facilities at the small but natural harbour of Kleinbaai. A tarred road connects Kleinbaai along the rugged coast with many rockpools to the lighthouse at Danger Point. Hikers can explor the beautiful coastline by using the tracks left in the sandstone by hundreds of fishermen's vehicles along this stretch of coastline. A tidal pool alows for save swimming and for the sportsman there is a golfcourse and a squash court.
